Dr Jack Lousma is an engineer, former fighter pilot and NASA astronaut. His first space mission was as pilot of Skylab 3 (1973), while his second was as commander on the third Space Shuttle mission STS-3. Earlier, he was also the CAPCOM recipient of the famous "Houston, we've had a problem" message from Apollo 13 (1970). He participated in the work of the Hermes Spaceplane Cockpit Working Group – HSCWG, which was co-managed by Dr Kass, under ESA (Toulouse office) leadership.
